Frank, Dweezil and me...

My First Zappa Show 1971.

I was in the front row looking up at Frank. He had a T Shirt on that said "RENTAL"...He had a look of disgust on his face as he perused the University of Denver Hockey Arena. His exact words were "I don't know what we are doing playing AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER HOCKEY ARENA". His expression changed and with a bemused look he scanned the audience of college kids (me included) and said "You are a bunch of pseudo intellectuals. You probably don't understand our music...( at this moment his expression changed into a S**T EATING GRIN) BUT SINCE THEY'RE PAYING US I GUESS WE WILL PLAY!" He then counted off into "Call Any Vegetable"...at that moment my life changed forever...I was witnessing a "God Amongst Men" and the concert was astonishingly brilliant.
