I was in the process of exporting the file and my computer crashed again! I'm still trying to get a finished version off my computer so I can upload it! It will get done tonight though!!!! So close, yet so far....
Nice work, Dweezil and everyone involved! I agree with Ted S. I'm enjoying these so much that I too would like to "upgrade" from The Early Years to the Silver Subscription, so I can hear all the episodes in the 5150 package.
In one of the episodes with Blues, you mention a "knuckle cracking" sound. It reminded me that Warren D also played a strange cracking sound in the intro to 'You're In Trouble', just after his whammy bar dive before the first verse, and nobody was able to identify that for me when the album was released. Thoughts?
To me, the sound you're describing sounds like a delay effect from an Eventide H3000. They have presets in them that will stagger a delay, almost like a ray gun.
Yeah, a brief Steve Stevens-y “splatter”. I wonder if it was a stylized artifact in the vein of EVH or just an accident. It’s interesting, the odd little details that pop out and tie it all together with character.
Hi Ted, Thanks so much! I'm glad you're enjoying it! We don't have an upgrade package but the closest thing would be to become a silver subscriber which is essentially the cost of the upgrade but gives you way more benefits. If you decide you'd like to do that then I can unlock the 5150 package for you. Check out the SILVER SUBSCRIPTION
Thanks for letting me know! I hope you enjoy all of the extra music and goodies you'll have access to along with the rest of the 5150 bundle! When you listen to RWTD make sure you listen from the 5150 player. Best, DZ
Merry Christmas from Blighty and stuck in my pit with the COVID lurgy. So as a non guitar player really, I have been totally immersed in these podcasts. It’s like you have pulled all the adjectives and thoughts from my brain and put it out there.
WACF is still my favourite album. That said I can’t wait for your dissection of Mean Street.
For “Magic” I always had the image of the band sitting semi circle just inside a warehouse roll up door with beers and such on the floor with the rain falling outside.
if the world loses him, all the knowledge is gone. We really need Greg Renoff to do the book. Again, thank you for these, Dweezil. I waswalking in the neighborhood and bawling listening to you guys talk about Romeo Delight solo.
Hello, "fools" and other songs without whammy is Ed using his 58/59 Les Paul? I read some where that in '79 once VH started making money he purchased one.
So sorry for the delay. I'm having problems with the internet at my house and uploading the episode continues to be a problem today. The spinning wheel of death strikes again! I promise it'll be up today though!!!

These are amazing Dweezil! Is there a way to upgrade from the Early Years to the 5150 pack? I had no idea I was going to love/need this so much.

We want Nuno!
It's coming today for sure! I've gone to great lengths to make this a very special episode! I'm still tweaking some things!!!
Love , love, this podcast, well worth the cost for the production quality and length
When is 6th installment coming out?
Hi Bill,
Hopefully very soon! I'm still doing some post production on it. I'll keep you informed. I can't wait for you all to hear the surprise audio in it.
I cant wait

Looking forward to Nuno on Fair Warning !!!
I think Paul Gilbert is thinking of Earth Wind and Fire's Shining Star with that Beautiful Girls melody
Dweezil, WACF are fantastic episodes!!!
I’m still smiling.
Hi Jurre,
I'm glad you enjoyed them! They were fun to make.
Very cool video Dweezil:

WAY cool. Thanks for the link! Loving these podcasts.
Back in the day I had a version of WACF where "Growth" fades out. It sounds weird to me to just end.
Deeezil, the answer to your question at 45:26 of part 2 of WACF: lots of krell!
Growth, on the original release, faded out and then when remastered was changed to the hard crash ending.
For “Magic” I always had the image of the band sitting semi circle just inside a warehouse roll up door with beers and such on the floor with the rain falling outside.
I got one word for future episodes. “DonLandee”!

Hi Jay,
It would be great to chat with Donn. We are trying to make that happen. I will be speaking with Greg Renoff for an upcoming episode!

It’s cool.
We’re not going anywhere Dweezil.
