Hearing Paul Gilbert playing DLR vocal lines on the guitar must have been the highlight of my week haha! Gotta love Paul, such a nice dude and an absolutely terrific player!! These episodes are just getting better and better!
I thought I couldn't be more impressed, but the Paul Gilbert episode comes along... The reverence for Ed from the likes of Vai and Gilbert is therapeutic. Excellent work, Dweezil. I'm not exactly sure what he was playing through since his amp wasn't visible on screen (we recorded remotely). I'm going to guess it was a Marshall with his standard pedal board. He was playing an Ibanez strat style guitar without a locking tremelo. I did alter the sound of the guitar for the epsiode during the post prodcution. I was trying to create an homage to the first 2 VH albums by making his mono guitar stereo by adding reverb and delay on the right side.
